I tried to do it my way and floundered in my weakness
I almost let the devil take control
I finally tired of dismay and through Our Fathers patience
I felt His spirit wake within my soul
He lifts me up on angels' wings
o'er mountains wreathed in shrouds
the majestic voice of heaven rings
and peaceful joy abounds
I see such wonder in His grace
nature mirrors Our Fathers peace
and cannot but decry
Great God is never sleeping
He's always by our side
within His quiet wonder
heaven and earth abide
He's always there along the way
to wash our hurt and pain away
His love resounds as thunder
to stem the fearful tide
Jesus never doubted the power of His love
He always proudly proclaims the strength of God above
My delight is the way of peace
the way of peace is love
He lifts me up on angels' wings
above our troubled times
reflected in great majesty
the strength and hope of history
within His love divine
as sweet as lifes great mystery
His spirit slept inside of me
and awoke within my soul
with gracious love
He lives in me
My Lord and I abide

I learned of hope in Jesus' way
what a joyous, happy day
Jesus proudly proclaims
the will of God above
My delight brings such peace
when you accept My love
He saw my spirit sleeping
and awoke within my soul.
